Stitch Fix #3

My 3rd fix arrived today and I have to admit, I was pretty underwhelmed with this one. On a positive note, they really do try to honor your requests and look at your Pinterest board (if you have one). I requested a top to go with the red skinny jeans (that I ended up keeping from my last fix), and I got one. I requested black skinny jeans, and I got them. I requested a light fall jacket, and I got it. On my pinterest board, I pinned a few tops with lace detail- and so I got something like that. I had also pinned a certain top, and received exactly that top. So you’d THINK this would be the best fix of them all, getting exactly what I requested. But sadly, it didn’t quite work out. I don’t want to lose my $20 styling fee, so I’d like to keep at least one of the items. So I’ll need some help deciding!

Kinda dark, neutral colors, not bright and happy like the first 2 have been. Not necessarily a bad thing, but…meh.

First item:

Esten Button-Up Sleeveless Blouse (the top they sent to wear with my red skinnys):

So, this Navy blouse is kind of plain and simple. It fits okay. It works with the red skinnys I suppose. I feel like I’d need to add some pizzazz to this outfit though. It needs bracelets or dangly earrings or something. Which is fine for a date night, but not running errands with my kids, who love dangly shiny things. I asked for a top to pair well with these pants that would be a casual look for an on-the-go mom…is this it? I’m not sure….

Abigail Colorblock Lace Trim Top

Here’s the “lace detail top”. I had pinned similar tops, but not this exact one. This is comfy. I like the color (and the back is black). You could dress it up or down. But I don’t think the quality justifies the price of this one and I’m just not in love with it. It’s also a tad big…kinda too loose around the shoulders for my liking.

Corinna Striped Dolman Top

This is the top I was most excited about. I pinned this one. It’s definitely one of those “me” tops. And I really do love this. A lot. The fabric is SO soft, and thin (so it’s not too hot/heavy). I like the style/cut and length. But it’s just too darn big on me 🙁 A size smaller and it would’ve been perfect. Boo. In the second picture I’m wearing the next item:

Baxley Zipper Detail Skinny Jean

I didn’t take any good pictures of these jeans, except with the top above. The fit is okay, not perfect… but I’m really not digging the “zipper detail”:

The zipper is on both sides in the front. I just don’t like it. I could cover it up with a few longer tops. But I’m not sold on them for the price.

Braylee Hooded Utility Jacket

This is the “light fall jacket” I requested. Similar to a few I had pinned on Pinterest. It’s the most expensive item in the box and I do like it. But do I LOVE it? Sigh….I don’t know! The color is olive green, but looks a bit more brown in these photos. It’s casual, I’ll probably wear it a lot.

What do you think? I need help with this one!

I’m keeping the jacket. I would’ve kept the first Navy blouse, but I realized it’s dry clean only, and I don’t have time for that kind of laundering requirement. I’m requesting the striped shirt again next month but in a smaller size. Woohoo! Thanks for your help everyone 🙂
